There are many ways to search the library's catalog. Each of the help pages linked on the left will give you tips on searching for specific kinds of items.
By Title
1- On the home page click on find books.
2- Title should be selected from the options menu under the search field
3 - Type the Title then Press the Enter Key or Click on Submit, Type Title as Same as Title Page you want, e.g. (E-commerce: business, technology, society )
4 - Search results will be displayed

Type the author and title you want to find, then press the Enter key or click Search. Type the author's last name first. For example:

Advanced Keyword
Keyword searching is a more powerful way to search the library catalog. It permits the use of adjacency, truncation, proximity, operators and field limits to home in on precisely the items you need. More help and examples are available on the pages linked at left.
Record Display
This link illustrates an example of a keyword search and a description of the different screen sections of the result's window.
By Keyword
1- On the home page click on “Find Books”.
2 - Keyword should be selected from the options menu under the search field
3 - Type the keyword you are looking for on “Search Box”, e.g. ( Computer virus )
4 - Search results will be displayed
By Subject
1- On the home page click on “Find Books”.
2- Subject should be selected from the options menu under the search field
3 - Type the Subject on “Search Box”, Same Subject on LC Subject Heading, e.g. ( Computer viruses )
4 - Search results will be displayed
By Call Number
1- On the home page click on “Find Books”.
2- Call Number should be selected from the options menu under the search field
3 - Type the book call number on “Search Box”, e.g. ( HF5548.32 .L38 2004 )
4 - Search results will be displayed
To see more of the record (Location, call #, and the availability)
To see the full information about a record click on it and a similar page will appear
Home link. Clicking this button will return you to the Library home page.
Help link. Clicking this button will return you to this help page.
New Search link. Clicking this button will take you to the page for submitting a new search (Catalog home page).
To return to the catalog and perform another search
To modify the current search
This item is a printed book
This item is an electronic resource
To request this item from other library or put a hold
To save a record in the new page a new icon will appear to export you save record and send it to an Email address or save it
To Display the Marc Record of the item

To Limit you search result by YEAR of publication, language, material type, location or sort you search
Find Articles :
a. Databases From Libraries Deanship Home Page choose (Find Articles). You can browse databases by two ways:
a- Title
b- Subject
Search by using keywords. If you are off campus you can click on "off campus access" and type your U.A.E.U email user name and email password.
Note: The databases in this link are only sorted by alphabetically so you must know each database which subject cover.
b. E Journals: From Libraries Deanship Home Page choose (Search for journals).
If you know the title or ISSN for journals you can find E Journals by title or ISSN.
You can also browse e-journals by subject.
Click on search after you type your data.
You have another option which is searching for keywords in e-journals (basic databases).
c. J ournals: If you know the title of journals you can also Search for journals (Print or Electronic).
Type the title into the title box.
Click on submit.
Renew Book :
From Libraries Deanship Home Page choose (Renew Book).
Type your ID Barcode (The number appears on the back of your ID card) into the Login box.
To review a list of all borrowed items in your record, click on the link (Items currently checked out).
You can renew books by two ways:
a. Renew all (renew all items at one time with same due date) by clicking on Renew all .
b. Renew selected items (renew items with different due date) by:
Ticking the box next to each title you wish to renew.
Choosing (renew selected items).
The new due date will appear next to each renewed title.
Request (hold) book :
When you need book and it not available in your library you can hold it .
From the page of book record click on (requests) icon which appears on the left above.
Type your ID Barcode (The number appears on the back of your ID card) into the ID Barcode box.
Choose library branch from the list of (choose a Pickup location).
Limit your hold by day and month.
Click on sub mit.
Course Reserve :
If your lecturer reserve books for your class you can find it by follow these steps:
From Libraries Deanship Home Page choose (Find Books).
Click on Course Reserve.
You will have tow option, choose one of them:
a. Search by Course Name or Number.
b. Search by Professor, Lecturer, or Instructor Name.
